Our Schloss Leit‘n is a place with history, surrounded by pristine nature.
Sustainably managed, one looks down over lush meadows full of wild herbs and flowers. Bordered by the slope bottom of the “Zitterbach”, whose name stems from past disasters and still causes some discomfort at times. Opposite, the wild forests of the Guggenberg line a harmoniously shaped mountain ridge, an offshoot of the Reißkofel.
Individual cave systems bear witness to a small gold rush from past times. Until 1992, skiing was done on the Guggenberg slope and many fairy tales were written.
At Schloss Leit‘n, the entire Steinwender family learned to ski. The slope was prepared for skiing, gates were set up using hazel branches, and then skiing was done. Even today, this tradition still holds its value. And so, at least once a year, the children from Schloss Lerchenhof ski down our Schloss Leit‘n.
The Leit‘n describes a slope meadow and has its roots in the Old High German language.
